8 New Year Session - Sing a song, play a tune, tell us a story or listen and celebrate in style. Collection for the club.
15 BrÒg - a brand-new band featuring legendary piper Gary West on pipes, whistles, vocals and guitar; virtuoso fiddler Greg Borland on fiddle and bass, and the sensational Sandy Brechin on accordion. Jigs, reels, airs and Scottish songs. Gary West is one of the country’s top pipers, presenter of BBC Radio Scotland's 'Pipeline' and Professor of Scottish Ethnology at Edinburgh University, currently with Glasgow City Police Pipe Band and the famous Atholl Highlanders, ex Ceolbeg, Caledon and Clan Alba. Greg Borland plays with Other Roads, Burach, ex Caledon and the Kathryn Tickell Band. 5 Wayward Jane - The music is an innovative ‘transatlantic’ interpretation of American folk and Old Time traditions, blending roots material with fresh arrangements and original compositions. Their rich sound features fiddle, clawhammer banjo, double bass, guitar, wooden flute and close vocal harmonies. See them on Youtube Club singer Isobel Watson. Entry £8 (£6 for members)
12 Barry Nisbet - A Shetland musician - fiddle player, songwriter and guitarist. His set includes mostly self penned songs - some poignant, some humorous; some based on historic events, some right up to date and fiddle tunes from the island of Yell, where he grew up. 19 Forgaitherin - A Fife-based folk group, Forgaitherin have a reputation for their wide range of songs, four-part harmonies and sympathetic instrumentation with guitar, accordion, keyboard and whistle. 4 Ian Bruce Ian Bruce is one of the best known faces on the Scottish folk scene and a wonderful ambassador for the Scottish singer/songwriter genre, all over Europe and beyond. Club singer Susan Kirkwood Entry £8 (£6 for members)
11 David Hershaw and Sandie Forbes - A groung-breaking acoustic roots duo from Fife. Their music combines elements of the Scottish folk tradition with modern song writing, infusing familiar melodies with fresh arrangements and sensibilities. Club Singer Jeannie Gardiner Entry £8 (£6 for members).
18 CANCELLED Shian Steve, Joss, Amy and Mel sing many well known folk songs, involving intricate harmonies, in their own wonderful style. All Shian band members are multi instrumentalists. see https://www.shianfolk.com/ A club night was suggested... and then more Coronavirus precautions came into play so only a handful of members came along and joined members of the committee for a last sing-song for a while.

20 We are delighted to tell you that our guest this week, Rebecca Connelly will be broadcasting a LIVE Facebook show for us on Wednesday 20th May on the Dunfermline Folk Club group page. Please go to the group page at 8 pm. We will put up some initial posts (and you can also add some posts) and then Rebecca will join us live.
